Studio Guide
Discover competitor signals, analyze your channel history, and use AI tools to prepare a publishing draft you can verify.
Guides
On This Page
By the end of this guide, you can move from a competitor signal to a topic, publishing approach, and content draft in Studio.
Before you begin
- Add a reference channel as My Channel and channels you want to benchmark as Competitors.
- Performance Predictor and personalized suggestions become useful when enough video history is available.
- AI generation tools may use your account's current feature access and credits.
- Generated output is not a published asset. Copy anything you want to keep before leaving the page.
How to reach this screen
Select Studio from the left navigation. The page follows three stages:
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Discover | Inspect competitor movement, outlier videos, and content gaps. |
| Analyze | Use your own video history for forecast ranges and topic ideas. |
| Create | Draft titles, a script outline, description, SEO suggestions, and a thumbnail brief. |
Discover: read competitor signals
What Should You Film Today?
Last 48 Hours highlights hourly view velocity for recent competitor videos. 7 Days highlights videos that look unusual relative to the comparison group. Hourly velocity is a current signal; a Z-score describes distance from the group. Neither guarantees future success.
Selecting a Content Signal can send its topic to generation tools. Topic applied from Pulse identifies the active context, and Clear topic removes it.
Opportunity Radar
| Tab | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Breakout | Videos showing unusual performance signals within the competitor group. |
| Gaps | Possible differences between competitor topics and topics covered by your channel. |
| Format | Sample count and average views for Shorts and long-form content. |
| Hidden | Relatively low-view, high-engagement videos that may signal a small but interested audience. |
| Activity | Video and view summaries by competitor. |
Read every average with its sample count. A format with few videos can be heavily influenced by one upload.
Analyze: use forecasts within their limits
Performance Predictor
All, Long-form, Shorts, and publish-day filters narrow the sample. Low, Median, and High form a range, not a guaranteed view target.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Estimated Views | Low–median–high range based on similar historical videos. |
| Best Publish Day | Strongest day in the current sample; it does not prove causation. |
| Best Video Length | Duration range highlighted by historical data. |
| Title Patterns | Repeated structures observed in past titles. |
| Confidence label | Summarizes how sample size and distribution support the estimate. |
After changing a filter, check the based on videos count again. Do not use a low-confidence or insufficient-data result as a publishing commitment.
Topic Ideas
Generate Ideas uses channel and competitor context. Open Why? for each idea and inspect its evidence before choosing it.
Create: treat output as a pre-publishing draft
| Tool | Output | Final check |
|---|---|---|
| Title Generator | Title options and keyword signals | Check promise, accuracy, and channel voice. |
| Script Outline | Opening hook, sections, and outro | Verify sources, facts, and flow. |
| Description Generator | Description, tags, and hashtags | Update links, dates, and claims. |
| SEO Optimizer | Keyword targets, tags, and search intent | Do not treat it as a search-ranking guarantee. |
| Thumbnail Brief | Concept, text, color, and emotional direction | Check brand fit, readability, and misleading claims. |
A copy action only writes to your clipboard. It does not publish to YouTube or modify a video.

Loading, empty, error, and locked states
| State | Next step |
|---|---|
| No competitors added | Add at least one channel as a Competitor on My Channels. |
| No breakout or gaps | Treat it as a valid empty state; check the active window and refresh later. |
| Insufficient video data | Broaden the filter or wait for more channel history. |
| Analysis failed | Use Refresh or the visible retry action. |
| Generation failed | Simplify the topic and retry; avoid repeatedly submitting the same request. |
| Tool locked or credits unavailable | Read the locked card and check Settings > AI Credits. |
Limits and troubleshooting
- A competitor signal does not mean the same topic will perform the same way for your channel.
- Keep low, median, and high forecast scenarios instead of reducing the range to one target.
- Verify names, numbers, sources, and recency in AI output before publishing.
- Studio does not publish to YouTube or take action without your confirmation.
