Channel Management
Add channels with the right role, filter or remove them, understand preparation and limit states, and compare two channels.
Guides
On This Page
By the end of this guide, you can manage your tracked list on My Channels and start your first two-channel comparison.
Before you begin
- Have the channel name,
@handle, or YouTube channel URL ready. - Decide whether the channel belongs to you. My Channel, Competitor, and Watchlist create different comparison contexts.
- The Channel Limit indicator shows current account usage. This guide does not assume a fixed channel or removal allowance.
- A new channel's analysis can remain in a data-preparation state after its card becomes visible.
How to reach this screen
Select Channels from the left navigation. The page heading is My Channels, and it contains two main tabs:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Channels | Search, filter, sort, and manage tracked channels. |
| Compare | Inspect at least two tracked channels in the same context. |
Controls on the Channels tab
Filters and sorting
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| All | Shows every tracked role. |
| My Channels | Shows the channel assigned the My Channel role. |
| Competitors | Shows channels assigned the Competitor role. |
| Watchlist | Shows channels monitored without treating them as competitors. |
| Sorting | Reorders the list by name, subscribers, or date added. |
| Channel Limit | Explains used and currently available channel access. |
If a filter is empty, do not assume the channel was removed; return to All first.
Channel cards
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
Avatar, channel name, and @handle | Check them together to identify the correct channel. |
| Role badge | Shows whether the channel is My Channel, Competitor, or Watchlist. |
| Subscribers and views | The main values on the card; the smaller values below describe period movement. |
| Sparkline | An axis-free direction summary; use the main number for the exact value. |
| Three-dot menu | Opens management actions such as Change Type and Remove Channel. |
Note
The main total and the smaller period change are not the same measurement. Read the sign and period context before interpreting a percentage.
Add a channel
Add Channel opens the search and role-selection dialog.
Search for the channel
Enter a channel name, @handle, or full YouTube channel URL. If a minimum-length message appears, enter more characters.
Verify the result
Check the avatar, channel name, and handle. If no database result matches, use the on-screen option to add it from YouTube.
Choose the role
Use Add as to select the role that matches your purpose.
| Role | Effect |
|---|---|
| My Channel | Used as your reference on the Dashboard and in comparisons. When assigning a different channel, read the consequence and confirmation shown on screen. |
| Competitor | Included in competitor-week, score, and comparison contexts. |
| Watchlist | Tracked without necessarily appearing in competitor-focused summaries. |
Complete the addition
Select the add action on the result. Keep the dialog open until Adding... completes. The visible channel card confirms the record; analysis data may still be preparing.
Change a role or remove a channel
Open the three-dot menu on a channel card.
- Change Type changes the channel's context in the app. Recheck the Dashboard and Compare sections afterward.
- Remove Channel stops tracking the channel. The confirmation dialog shows current removal usage and any next-change date.
Warning
Read the usage and consequence text in the confirmation dialog before removing a channel. Trust the current account message rather than an old number in a guide.
Compare two channels
- Open Compare on My Channels.
- Choose the first channel in the selection area.
- Choose a second channel and confirm both selected cards or indicators.
- If period and metric controls are visible, set both for the same comparison question.
- When results appear, read the channel summaries first, then the growth chart and other analysis sections.
The current account may limit comparison selection. Follow the selection counter and locked-state text; this guide does not hard-code a maximum.
Read the growth chart
- The horizontal axis is time; the vertical axis is the selected metric.
- Each color or series belongs to one channel; confirm the legend label.
- A tooltip shows exact channel values at the same date.
- A total and growth during a period are different; check the active metric label.
- If days are missing or data is preparing, do not treat the distance between lines as conclusive.
Practice with Coğrafyanın Kodları
Verified July 17, 2026. This exercise does not depend on changing channel values.
- Find the Coğrafyanın Kodları card under All; check its name, handle, and role badge.
- If it is absent, search for it in Add Channel. If the app says it is already tracked, do not create another record.
- Open Compare.
- Select Coğrafyanın Kodları first and another tracked channel serving a similar topic or audience second.
- Confirm both selections, then read the chart with the same period and metric.
- Do not infer why one line leads from the chart alone; open Channel Analysis and inspect period videos and daily movement.
Loading, empty, error, and locked states
| State | What to do |
|---|---|
| No channels added yet | Use Add Channel to add the first channel. |
| Searching... | Keep the query unchanged until results complete. |
| No database match | Verify the handle or URL and try the add-from-YouTube option. |
| Channel not found | Check the URL or handle spelling. |
| Already tracking | Find the existing card under All. |
| Channel limit reached | Review Channel Limit and current usage on Subscription. |
| Data is being prepared | The channel was added, but analysis is not ready; check again later. |
| Comparison is empty | Confirm that at least two channels are selected and their data is ready. |
| General error | Retry; if it continues, contact support with the visible message and channel identity. |
Troubleshooting and limits
- For similar channel names, verify the avatar and handle instead of relying on the name alone.
- Competitor summaries should change after a role change; recheck the Dashboard.
- A sparkline has no exact scale; open the channel card for detail.
- Public channel data is prepared periodically and may not update at the same time as YouTube Studio.
- Do not compare channels without using the same period and metric.
